Nyberg's News is a collection of select emails that have been sent home throughout the current school year.

Laura Nyberg has been Principal of Dodgeville High School since 2015. She has nearly thirty years of experience in education. She taught social studies at Edgewood and Deforest High Schools. After eight years in the classroom, she found her passion in administration and served in roles such as Associate Principal of Middleton High School and Dean of Students at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College.

Since becoming principal of DHS, Laura is especially proud of the remodel and expansion of the facility following the 2016 referendum.  The updated environment not only improved teaching and learning opportunities by adding key programming and spaces, it increased collaboration, reduced stressors, and updated access to technology for students, staff, and the community. She also led efforts to rebrand the building in order to focus on academic achievement, school pride, leadership, goal setting, honoring veterans, and recognizing distinguished alumni. The message to students is that you can start at DHS and do anything.

Laura holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from UW-Stevens Point and a Masters Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison. She was also certified as a principal and student services director through UW-Madison. She and her husband Mike are enthusiastic UW-Badger fans and avid dog lovers. When she’s not at DHS, she can be found playing with her dogs Bucky and Sheldon and attending Badger games near and far.
